San Pasqual

Pasqual Baylon was a shepherd before he was admitted to the Franciscan order as a layperson. He was thought to be simple-minded and was put to work in the kitchen. Legend says he was found enraptured in adoration of the Eucharist while angels did his work. He is the patron of kitchens, cooks, and cheerfulness. He protects against a sad spirit.
